Unless
( Psm. 116)
Where
in the midst of despair have you gone
Never recalling the
battle you’ve won
Trying and trying to hide all the
pain
Countlessly hearing Him call at your name, Unless
Never again will you put up a fight
Your mind is to clouded to conquer the night
The snap of a finger will never undo
The wall you’ve constructed embedded in you, Unless
Unless there’s a part of your heart that’s been left uncold
Unless there’s a dream deep inside that’s been left untold
Forever lost in the depths of sin is the treasure you hold.
Unless
Why by the blinding deceit have you turned
Only unknowingly placed to be burned
With scales on your eyes and a mask on your face
You’ll never return to His gentle embrace, Unless
Your peace and your hope and your love remain bound
The life once transformed and made clean
Is left to conform and will never be seen, Unless
Unless you, listen to that quiet voice in your ear
Unless you, set aside your ever doubt and fear
Unless you, give Him every burden, ball and chain
Unless you, open up your, open up your mind
Open up your mouth and call on His name.
